For months, people have been asking me if I have a website.  Well, now I do!  The idea for "My Lady's Kitchen" has been brewing for just over a year now.  I was thinking of opening a little tea shop, but I wanted it to be more than just a place to gather to drink tea and eat great desserts.  I wanted a place where people could come in and enjoy a little taste of heaven.  My Lady's Kitchen was going to be a place for people to relax with a good book, or take a lesson in some traditional craft (like needlework, weaving, etc.), or learn how to bake themselves.  I wanted a space for mothers and fathers to bring their kids to play and learn; I wanted a setting for singles and youth to gather to discuss what matters to them; I envisioned an environment teeming with great thoughts and lofty ideas.  At the end of the day, I wanted people to go home refreshed and eager for life.  I wanted families (and people without families) to consider establishing traditions of their own and, in so doing, add richer meaning to their lives.

Well, a year has passed and My Lady's Kitchen is not a physical building, but there are lots of stirrings for something along these lines. I see a real need amongst friends, acquaintances and colleagues to get back to basics.  Everybody wants to create a beautiful home environment and they want to pass those skills on to their loved ones.  I've enjoyed baking all kinds of beautiful treats over the year and this August marks my first at-home baking class.  I'm very excited about it!

I hope you'll check back on this website often.  My hope is that it will become more than just a place to order baked goods.  I want it to be a resource for you and your family on our mutual journey to recapture and revitalize the culture, which is often so sadly lacking in things that are good, beautiful, and true.
